The Giving Keys - Pay It Forward

The Giving Keys started in a New York City hotel room when the founder, Caitlin Crosby, wore her key as a necklace - from there, she thought of engraving old keys with inspirational words.  She realized that we are all like these keys - discarded & flawed, and she wanted to find a way to re-purpose them over and over again.  Once the message has served it's purpose, you pay it forward and give your key to someone else that it can help!

Caitlin realized the charitable potential of her business on a rainy day after driving by a couple holding a sign, "Ugly, Broke & Hungry".  She took them to dinner, heard their story and employed them the next day.  As The Giving Keys developed, they partnered with United Way and Path to ensure that those employed were truly determined to reset the course of their lives.  Since the beginning, they have employed 13 people experiencing homelessness, providing opportunities for  each person to move into permanent housing.  In March 2013, they also started partnering with Chrysalis to help find more employees - through Chrysalis both companies are dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing them with resources and support to retain employment.

Caitlin has reached a wide variety of celebrities through her company too.  Take a look at your favorite celebs who rock The Giving Keys:
