Notes from Market: Day 1

We're barely into 2013 and we're already off to market in New York City to preview the newest styles at Intermezzo!
What is market? It's where we, as buyers, go to preview brands' newest collections and order for upcoming seasons--we're currently buying for Spring & Summer!

Trends going strong: Florals, neons, digital prints, moto jackets and vests, lace, and pastels.
At 7 for All Mankind we fell in love with these coated shorts and their jacquard patterns while stocking up on our favorites--Kimmie, the Slim Illusions, and a few assorted skinnies.

The girls at Blaque Label were looking as cute as ever and we couldn't resist either of these dresses! The bright coral number on the left will be coming a little later in the season but we can order it in a great blush color for now if anyone's interested! The pleated bustier maxi pictured on the right will be coming in a gorgeous pale pink color that we can't wait to break out in time for Valentine's Day!

We kind of want to try to DIY a dip-dyed fade into a deep red at the bottom--anyone have any tips?

Remember the split neck tunic we had this past Fall? This updated version is going onto our personal wishlist (we already have the other one) and in addition to it now coming in a unique taupe, it now has pockets!
We also ordered a few of GoldHawk's amazing slips too--so we'll have plenty in stock when this tunic hits our floors in case you want to rock it with the lace peeking out below the hem the way Erin inspired nearly everyone who bought it to do. Their lace slips and tanks are to die for AND we've placed an order for the newest reincarnation of their best-selling chiffon layered cardigan that a few of you have been asking us about lately.

There's already a buzz going over this new-to-Swank line, Naven.
Playing on the contrast between classic and sophisticated silhouettes and a young, fun and flirty style, the line highlights the beauty of the female silhouette through flattering fits with bold colors, fine fabrics and an edgy take on classic form.
FUN FACT: This LA-based line is designed by twins Kymberley and Alexis McClay and can be found on a number of celebrities including Kendall & Kylie Jenner, Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, Jenna Krupa, Emma Roberts, Cher Loyd, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Katie Cassidy.

We also picked up the American-made line, Single, which features amazing dresses (and a few tops) that have a secret weapon hidden underneath--a magical lining and slims and smooths out all your bumps to make you look amazing from every angle. Designer Galina Sobolev was even on hand offering suggestions of her favorites and trying on samples for the buyers!

A few of our favorite finds...

We were immediately drawn to this neon lace jacquard dress! So fun and unique but still completely wearable and we love that it comes with a matching belt--the color is STUNNING in person.

This was another print that we pulled off the rack and were instantly drawn to. From the color, to the  placement of the patterns and that magical lining beneath, no details are overlooked in even the simplest of styles!

Simple and flirty, this colorblock silk dress is making us yearn for warm weather!

This dress is just a taste of the other look of Single, which has a collection of 6 sexy, fitted silhouettes reminiscent of Victoria Beckham's signature style available in a rotating color palette and all coming with a coordinating belt and again, that magical lining which we definite appreciate in styles like this!

From Galina herself: I invite you to enter my world of SINGLE- the world where women are more daring and dynamic, they wear their fashion with excitement and a zest for life, they command attention and shine in the spotlight, and they feel great in their own skin. I celebrate the confidence and strength in every woman.

There was so much more that we didn't even mention from today--Line & Dot's newest deliveries, the amazing silk moto vest by Naven we are still drooling over,  the leather trimmed styles by French Connection or Hanky Panky's newest color options (currently being shown by former ShopGirl Mackenzie Ott!)

On deck tomorrow: basics, denim from J Brand, Mother, Citizens and Current/Elliott, Free People, Rebecca Minkoff, Vanessa Mooney and a few others we'll let you in on tomorrow!
It's going to be a busy Monday...
