I had no idea when I opened Swank Boutique that it could become anything more than a cute little shop that sold clothes but in five years, it has become more than that to me.
I opened Swank in 2005 after moving to Columbia with my boyfriend, now husband, when I discovered the lack of shopping options. K suggested I open a store and 6 months later, I did. I always wanted it to be the type of store where you could get something for any occasion—something akin to shopping a closet. I wanted to provide a style of clothing that wasn’t available and a unique selection of accessories. I wanted it to be laidback and comfortable to shop and wanted the opportunity to get to know my customers.
What I love about Swank is getting to pair a customer with that piece of clothing that makes their face light up. I love that. Every time, it never gets old.
